Spring season registration opens on December 19, 2025.
• Registration typically opens several weeks before the start of each season (Fall and Spring).
• We recommend registering early, as space is limited and teams may fill up quickly.
• Registration will close when the season begins or when a team reaches its maximum roster, whichever comes first.
• If you're interested in joining after registration closes, please email us at rockcityunitedsc@gmail.com ()to request to be placed on the waitlist in case a spot becomes available.
Follow us on social media or check our website regularly for announcements about opening dates and deadlines.
No, the registration fee does not include travel or tournament expenses. These costs vary depending on the event and location, and are considered additional fees.
That said, we understand that travel can be a financial burden, and we strive to make it as affordable as possible by:
• Seeking donor support and sponsorships
• Offering fundraising opportunities for families
• Working to minimize out-of-pocket costs whenever possible
💡 If your team is attending a tournament or traveling off-island, your coach or team manager will provide a detailed breakdown of expected costs and payment timelines.
We are committed to making competitive soccer accessible for all players.
We’re so glad you’re interested in joining Rock City United! If you don’t see your child’s age group listed during registration, it’s likely because:
• We are currently limited by available coaching staff, and
• There is not enough field space and time slots to accommodate more age groups at this time
We are actively working to expand our program and hope to offer more age divisions in the future.
In the meantime, please email us at rockcityunitedsc@gmail.com ()to:
• Ask about available options or alternate team placements
• Be added to a waitlist or notification list for future opportunities
💡 Thank you for your interest and patience as we grow—we’re working hard to make soccer accessible for more players in our community!
Rock City United SC is located in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and features female teams for U8-U14 age groups. Rock City United SC also has a women's team for women 15 years and older.
In soccer, teams are grouped using the “U” system, which stands for “Under.” For example, U10 means "Under 10"—players who are 9 years old or younger by a specific cutoff date (usually the calendar year).
This system is used worldwide and helps:
• Keep age brackets consistent and fair
• Allow players to compete with others in the same developmental stage
• Match tournament and league structures used by organizations like US Soccer and FIFA
So instead of saying “9-year-olds,” we use U10, which could include players turning 9 during the season. It’s a standardized way to group players by birth year rather than current age.
💡 Example: A player born in 2016 would typically play in the U9 division for the 2025–2026 season.
Players will need the following for practices and games:
• Soccer cleats
• Shin guards
• Athletic clothes for practice
• Water bottle to stay hydrated
• Black soccer shorts and black soccer socks for games
Each player will be provided with a team jersey to wear for games.
If you're having a hard time finding gear on island, feel free to reach out to us. We may have extras available to lend or can send you a link to order shorts and socks that match the Nike uniforms used this season.
Schedules—including field locations, practice times, and game dates—are posted on the club’s site and emailed to parents/players at season start. Tournament dates and special events will be communicated in advance, but please note that some events may be tentative depending on the number of players who can commit, and other logistical factors such as travel, field availability, or tournament entry requirements.
We will notify parents and players of any schedule changes or cancellations (including weather-related closures) through the following channels:
• WhatsApp message and/or email sent to the contact information provided during registration
⏰ We do our best to send out weather-related cancellations at least 1–2 hours before practice time.
Please make sure your contact details are up to date in your registration profile to ensure you receive timely updates.
If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance, you can:

Soccer ball sizes vary by age to ensure players develop skills safely and effectively:
• U4 to U8: Size 3 (smaller and lighter for young players)
• U9 to U12: Size 4 (slightly larger for growing skills)
• U13 and up: Size 5 (standard adult size used in competitive play)
If you're unsure, your coach can help you find the right ball for your player’s age group.
Yes! We welcome any player to join Rock City United and have no restrictions on playing for multiple clubs recreationally or in different contexts.
• It is Rock City United's mission to provide access and opportunity for girls to play soccer, and we want to support players in playing as much as possible.
• That said, for official competitions (like leagues or tournaments), a player will need to choose one club to represent. This decision should be communicated with the coach so everyone is aligned.
• You may also need to ensure that dual participation is allowed by the other club, as each organization may have different policies.
• Please let us know about any potential scheduling conflicts so we can work together to support your player’s development.
